Elementary Curriculum
At St. Timothy's we strive to maintain a balanced academic program in grades K-5. Our curriculum meets or exceeds the benchmarks outlined in the California State Standards.
Although we give the SAT-9 achievement tests each year, our program is not dominated by standardized testing. We are able to offer students a solid foundation in basic skills and critical thinking, along with experiences in the arts and foreign language.
Students in our elementary program study:
- Language Arts- with an emphasis on mastering reading and writing at the earliest levels through explicit instruction in phonics, grammar, and spelling as well as applying skills while reading a variety of materials and writing in the content areas.
